I was raised on canned tours where everything is done for you like you go to England for ten days and they take care of everything; the plane, the bus to the hotel, the hotel then every day, some kind of tour or activity. 2.) Some people want to do outdoor travel and tours like safaris, scenic train rides, sightseeing bus rides, 4wd desert tours, visiting ancient ruins, etc.
3.) Partying people go somewhere for the fun. It could be a concert or festival. There are some places geared for nightlife like Cancun, Ibiza and Pattaya.
4.) Physically active people go places to do the activities they like such as swimming, biking, hiking, walking, mountain climbing, caving, river-rafting, kayaking, skiing, etc.
